The Security Service of Ukraine has identified and arrested another spy working for Russian intelligence, tracking the activities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' air force in the western region.
According to the investigation, a 20-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi fell under the enemy's radar while seeking «easy money» through social media channels.
His primary task was to monitor military bases, the number, and schedules of Ukrainian aircraft launches.
To achieve this, he set up hidden cameras around airbases that streamed images in real-time to Russian agents.
This way, the invaders aimed to monitor the presence and types of aircraft at Ukrainian airfields.
SBU operatives caught him in the act while he was setting up equipment near a military facility.
During the search, a smartphone was seized that contained evidence of his collaboration with the enemy.
Investigators have charged him under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason during wartime).
The perpetrator is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
The operation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
