Specialized anti-corruption authorities reported the detection of a crime involving bribery in cryptocurrency among employees of the State Border Service.

Details: The pre-trial investigation revealed that a State Border Service officer provided an unlawful benefit to a law enforcement representative to avoid prosecution for illegal activities.

The bribe, amounting to approximately 355 thousand USD in the cryptocurrency "USDT," was transferred to a cryptocurrency wallet of a mediator engaged by the law enforcement officer. After the total amount was received, it was converted into cash and handed over to the officer.

In early February 2025, the officer and his mediator were notified of the suspicion.

They are charged under part 4 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
