Law enforcement conducted 30 raids across several regions, seizing raw materials, finished products, and equipment worth 2,000,000 hryvnias.
Officers from the Department of Strategic Investigations and investigators from the National Police uncovered yet another underground manufacturing network as part of comprehensive efforts to expose criminal groups whose activities harm trademark owners and the economy. They operated in Kharkiv, Kyiv regions, and Kyiv - in industrial zones and garage cooperatives.
The criminals equipped their workshops with necessary machinery, raw materials, and packaging. To avoid attracting attention due to excessive electricity consumption, they acquired alternative power sources. Coffee and various spices were packaged in containers bearing logos of both Ukrainian and foreign manufacturers.
The counterfeit goods were sold as authentic products to customers nationwide, who then resold them in the consumer market. Orders could be received via mail or arranged for delivery using participants' own transport.
Officers of the DSR and National Police conducted searches in residential, industrial, and storage facilities, as well as vehicles used by the perpetrators in Kyiv, Kyiv, and Kharkiv regions. As a result of these operations, police seized production lines, packaging equipment, raw materials, and components for making counterfeits, vehicles, phones, and rough notes. Thousands of boxes of ready-to-sell products were also confiscated.
Further investigative actions are ongoing. The criminal case is being investigated under articles 176 (violation of copyright), 190 (fraud), and 229 (illegal use of trademarks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Office of the Prosecutor General oversees the criminal proceedings.
