In Kyiv, law enforcement has uncovered a criminal group engaged in the sale of illegal substances via so-called «master classes» – bulk shipments that the criminals concealed in public areas. The offenders face up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
Investigators from the Pechersk Police Department, along with operatives from the Drug Crime Unit, apprehended drug dealers while they were transporting another 8 kg batch of psychotropic substances in the trunk of a Skoda vehicle.
Among those detained were a 26-year-old foreign national residing in Kyiv and a 45-year-old resident from Dnipropetrovsk region who had come to the capital to visit a friend.
During the investigative actions, police discovered a location where the criminals had already made a 5 kg «stash», from which they seized a package containing the psychotropic substance Alpha-PVP. In total, 13 kg of the substance was confiscated, with a street value of about 6 million UAH.
Investigators detained the accomplices in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and notified them of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code – illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation for the purpose of sale of especially dangerous psychotropic substances committed by a group of persons based on prior conspiracy.
According to the sanctions of the article, they face up to 12 years of imprisonment with asset confiscation.
