The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended an FSB agent who, posing as an international cargo driver, was involved in directing Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory.
The investigation revealed that his primary task was to collect and relay geolocation data of strategic targets to the enemy.
The spy also tracked military equipment movements across Europe, providing information to the adversary.
According to the case materials, he recorded the coordinates of targets during cargo transport and kept relevant data on multiple smartphones for secrecy.
Cyber specialists from the SBU discovered that this agent was linked to an FSB network that was exposed earlier this year, resulting in the arrest of three other members while the driver was abroad.
The Security Service detained the agent immediately upon his return to Ukraine.
He was found with mobile phones containing evidence of his FSB connections.
Investigators have charged him under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason under martial law).
The perpetrator is in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Office of the Attorney General.
