In the Mykolaiv region, law enforcement has apprehended a former head of the fuel service on suspicion of embezzling military property valued at over 24 million UAH.
The arrest was conducted under the supervision of prosecutors from the specialized prosecution office of the Southern region. The accused is suspected of misappropriating military assets and neglecting his official duties (part 3 of article 410, part 4 of article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Investigations revealed that between 2020 and 2025, he was receiving fuel for the military unit but failed to deliver it to the storage. To conceal this scheme, he submitted false information regarding the movement of assets, prepared documents incorrectly, or did not compile them at all.
The former official misused the embezzled fuel at his discretion, leading to the loss of over 650 tons of strategically important resources for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The state incurred losses exceeding 24 million UAH.
The court has imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention, with the possibility of bail set at 450 thousand UAH.
Efforts are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the crime, and measures are being taken to recover the damages inflicted on the state.
