The Kyiv region police reported the arrest of a 22-year-old assailant who stabbed a 37-year-old man in the train vestibule while defending a girl. The incident occurred on September 23 at 4:40 PM on the train route "Kyiv-Volynskyi — Berezan". Initially, the intoxicated young man started arguing with the girl, and when a man came to her aid, the aggressor turned his aggression toward him. During the altercation, the attacker produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. The injured man was hospitalized with a penetrating wound.
Following the attack, the young man fled, but police quickly located and arrested him. The weapon used in the crime was seized. Investigators charged the 22-year-old suspect with two articles of the Criminal Code: hooliganism with the use of cold weapons (Part 4 of Article 296) and intentional infliction of serious bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 121). He faces a prison sentence of five to eight years. The court has placed the suspect in custody.
