A 61-year-old local man died at the scene due to a knife injury. The woman faces up to fifteen years in prison.
The police received a report from medical personnel about a man found with a fatal stab wound in an apartment on Jordan Street. A detective team and forensic expert were dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found the body of a 61-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest. His 52-year-old wife was also present in the apartment. During questioning, she was inconsistent in her statements – at first, she claimed her husband had stabbed himself, then changed her story to say she was holding the knife when he “ran into it.”
During the investigation, authorities uncovered the true circumstances of the event: a domestic conflict had erupted between the couple, during which the woman grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband in the chest. The man died from the injury at the scene.
Police arrested the 52-year-old woman under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Evidence was also collected from the crime scene. Investigators, under the supervision of the local prosecutor's office, informed the suspect of her charges under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional homicide. She is currently in custody and faces up to fifteen years in prison.
