Man Arrested for Arson in Revenge Against Vehicle Owner

A man set a car on fire in Kyiv as an act of revenge. Police are currently investigating the case.

Police have charged a man who set fire to a Kyiv resident's car out of revenge. The fire has almost completely destroyed the vehicle. The arsonist faces up to ten years in prison for his actions.
Recently, at night, the Dnipro police department received a report about a car burning on Prazka Street. An investigative team and emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the Toyota had been set on fire using a plastic bottle filled with a flammable substance, which was ignited and placed under the vehicle. 
Subsequently, during investigative efforts, officers worked with criminal analysts to identify and locate the suspect – a 33-year-old resident of the capital. 
According to the offender, he intended to “get back” at the driver, mistakenly believing the vehicle had almost run him over on one of the streets. 
Investigators, under the guidance of the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office, have informed the suspect of charges under part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional destruction or damage to property. The article's sanctions provide for up to ten years of imprisonment.
