A fraudster in Kyiv is facing trial for promising a woman to remove her husband from the wanted list in exchange for $2000. The perpetrator claimed to have connections with officials who could assist in the matter. The investigation has been completed, and the indictment has been submitted to the court. He faces up to eight years in prison.
Recall that in June, police caught a man who was offering to help a local woman avoid her husband's mobilization, claiming he had connections that would allow him to alter registry data.
Law enforcement apprehended the man while he was receiving $2000 from the woman.
Investigators charged him under the Criminal Code of Ukraine for receiving illegal benefits.
The case has now been sent to court, and the fraudster faces up to eight years of imprisonment with asset confiscation.
