The Security Service of Ukraine has arrested an FSB agent in the Dnipropetrovsk region who was involved in coordinating attacks on Kryvyi Rih and neighboring areas. According to the SBU press office,
it has been revealed that Russian forces were preparing to strike energy facilities, and the agent was tasked with identifying the locations of Ukrainian air defense.
The investigation found that a 39-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih district was seeking contacts with Russian intelligence through Telegram channels.
He was later recruited by an FSB military counterintelligence officer.
Following instructions, the agent traveled by public buses, attempting to locate radar stations and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Additionally, during air alerts, he documented the routes of mobile fire groups he observed.
The collected information was sent to his handler in the form of photographs of Ukrainian targets with their coordinates on Google Maps.
SBU officers detained him at his residence, confiscating a smartphone that held intelligence information and contact details.
Investigators have charged him under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason in wartime). He is currently in custody without the right to bail, facing life imprisonment with asset forfeiture.
