A report of a traffic accident on Voskresensky Boulevard was received by law enforcement on September 9 around 11:40 AM. 
Upon arrival, police established that a 51-year-old driver of a Kia did not yield while turning onto Alisher Navoi Avenue and hit a woman crossing the street on a green traffic signal. 
As a result of the incident, an 89-year-old Kyiv resident suffered injuries, including fractures and head trauma, and was hospitalized on her birthday. 
Preliminary information indicates that the driver was sober. Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for violating traffic safety rules. The investigation is ongoing.
