A 48-year-old man faces charges for attempted murder after allegedly attacking a woman while intoxicated. He could face up to 15 years in prison for this crime.
The event occurred in an apartment on Salyutna Street in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital. Law enforcement officials reported that during a prolonged argument, the man stabbed a 38-year-old woman in the neck with a kitchen knife.
As a result of the assault, the victim sustained serious injuries, including a penetrating wound to the carotid artery. She was hospitalized in critical condition, but fortunately, doctors were able to stabilize her, and her life is no longer in danger.
The assailant was apprehended at the scene, and the weapon used in the crime was seized. It is known that the man had previously faced criminal charges for hooliganism.
Investigators, under the supervision of the Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor's Office, have informed the suspect of the charges against him under the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
