An investigation has been initiated in the Dnipro region regarding the procurement of generators for schools at inflated prices, leading to suspicions against four entrepreneurs and a local education official.

The Kyiv city prosecutor's office has opened a case involving four suppliers suspected of misappropriating public funds through inflated pricing (part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The head of the education department is suspected of complicity in this scheme (part 5 of Article 27, part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Experts have determined that the generators were overpriced by 870 thousand hryvnias. One entrepreneur won the tender, while another sourced the generators for supply, and two others assisted in transferring the funds and signing the documentation.

Discussions are ongoing about imposing preventive measures on the suspects and suspending the department head from her position.
