The Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General uncovered an FSB agent within NABU.
Following coordinated efforts in Kyiv, an employee working in the elite ‘D-2’ unit was detained for relaying information to Russian intelligence.
The investigation revealed that the agent’s activities were overseen by traitor Dmitry Ivantsov, former deputy head of Yanukovych’s security, who assisted the fleeing president to escape to Russia in 2014.
The SBU documented at least 60 instances of unauthorized information transfer regarding Ukrainian security personnel.
The agent collected data on targets planned for attacks by utilizing restricted law enforcement databases.
For each completed task, he received payments through bank transfers.
Previously, the SBU had alerted NABU leadership about potential risks, but no actions were taken, allowing the traitor to continue his work.
After thorough documentation of the crimes, the SBU and OGP apprehended the spy, seizing his electronic devices.
The agent has been charged under multiple articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
• Part 1 of Article 111 (treason);
• Part 3 of Article 362 (unauthorized actions with information).
The perpetrator faces up to 15 years of imprisonment.
These operations were conducted under the supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
