The Kyiv city prosecutor's office, in collaboration with the SBU investigators, arrested a KCSA official and the director of a municipal market for receiving an illegal benefit of 25 thousand USD.

It was discovered that in 2023, an entrepreneur rented municipal property to establish a catering business at this market.

Later, it turned out that the main entrance to the catering establishment is located in the arch of the market building, which is leased by another entity — the Tourism and Promotions Department of KCSA. This department used the arch for advertising and promotional purposes, blocking access to the future catering establishment.

To resolve the access issue, the Tourism Department official proposed a meeting with the entrepreneur to 'purchase' the right to unrestricted access to his premises.

To implement this illegal scheme, she also involved the market director, who was to act as an intermediary and facilitate the transfer of the property using his official position.

Both were arrested while receiving the funds. A notification of suspicion for committing a criminal offense under part 4 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being prepared.
