The State Bureau of Investigation has opened a criminal case regarding the possible assault of a military reservist by employees of the Shipbuilding District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in Mykolaiv.

 The incident occurred on July 14, 2025, during mobilization activities. Preliminary reports suggest that the man was a wanted individual, but the actions of the recruitment center employees may have exceeded their official authority.

The case has been initiated under part 5 of article 426-1 of the Criminal Code, concerning abuse of power or official authority by a military personnel that resulted in serious consequences. The penalty can reach up to 12 years of imprisonment.

The specialized prosecutor's office in the defense sector of the Southern region is overseeing the process. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
