The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended a 42-year-old local man in Kharkiv who was serving in an assault brigade of the National Guard and was working for the enemy.

Details: According to the investigation, the agent was coordinating Russian airstrikes on the positions of his own unit, the security service reported.

It was discovered that, holding pro-Russian views, he established contact with an FSB officer via Telegram messenger.

As a platoon commander, the agent was leaking coordinates of headquarters, training centers, and other military facilities where he was serving. He also intended to provide his curator with lists of brigade officers and their numbers from company to battalion.

After transmitting intelligence data, the FSB promised the agent to arrange his "evacuation" to Russia through the frontline in the Kharkiv direction. Law enforcement uncovered the "mole" and apprehended him.

During the documentation of the agent's crimes, comprehensive measures were taken to secure the Defense Forces' positions, emphasized the SBU. A phone containing evidence of his work for the Russian special service was seized from the suspect.

Currently, SBU investigators have notified the agent of suspicion of treason committed under martial law.

The suspect is now in custody.
