Successful Repatriation: 909 Heroes Returned Home

Ukraine has successfully repatriated 909 bodies of fallen soldiers from various fronts. Details of the repatriation process.

Ukraine has achieved a significant milestone by repatriating 909 fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.

This was announced by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Details of the repatriation of Ukrainian warriors

Bodies were returned from the following areas:

  • Kurakhove
  • Pokrovsk
  • Bakhmut
  • Vugledar
  • Luhansk
  • Zaporizhzhia
  • Sumy
  • Kharkiv.

Additionally, bodies were returned from morgues in the aggressor state.

The repatriation process was conducted with the support of the Coordination Headquarters, the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons, and in cooperation with the Joint Center at the SBU, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and other organizations.

The bodies will be transported to designated state institutions, where law enforcement and forensic experts will identify the deceased.

After identification, the bodies of the heroes will be handed over to their families for burial.

Previous repatriation efforts - what is known

On March 28, 909 fallen Ukrainian soldiers were successfully repatriated.

On February 14, Ukraine repatriated 757 fallen soldiers.

On January 24, 757 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers were returned.

On December 20, 503 bodies of fallen soldiers were repatriated.

On November 29, 502 bodies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were returned.

On November 8, 563 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers were successfully repatriated.

On October 18, Ukraine brought back 501 bodies of fallen soldiers.

On August 2, 250 bodies from various fronts were repatriated.

On June 14, 254 fallen defenders were returned, who will be identified and handed over to their families.
