A new initiative has been launched in Ukraine aimed at supporting women who are partners of veterans. The program encompasses training in psychological assistance, legal matters, and medical aspects of military adaptation post-service.
This was announced by representatives of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
The project, implemented by the public organization "Kyiv School of Public Administration named after S. Nizhny", includes 18 thematic lectures led by experts. During the training, partners of veterans, missing persons, captives, and fallen soldiers will receive guidance in areas such as:
- psychological support and stress management;
- legal issues;
- available government assistance;
- medical aspects of adaptation;
- basics of entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
As part of the program, Ukrainian women will learn, among other things:
- how to communicate with their husbands after service or return from captivity;
- what educational opportunities exist for veterans and their families;
- what balanced nutrition looks like for recovery;
- how to conduct business safely.
Upon completion of the training, which will last up to two months, participants will receive an electronic certificate.
"Wives and partners are often the first to support veterans upon their return to civilian life. However, these women also require assistance and specific knowledge to navigate this journey together", emphasized the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
The program organizers noted that the initiative aims to provide "knowledge, confidence, and support to women who stand by their defenders".
"This course will help veterans' wives not only support their loved ones but also acquire essential skills to become stronger and more confident in overcoming the challenges they face", as stated on the program's website.
Registration for the training can be done via the provided link.
Previously, Ukraine launched the "Veteran Sports" program, which allows combatants and individuals with war-related disabilities to receive 1500 UAH for services at sports facilities.
