President Volodymyr Zelensky has posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to F-16 pilot Pavlo Ivanov.

Quote: "For personal courage and heroism displayed in the defense of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree:

To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the "Gold Star" order to Pavlo Ivanov – Major (posthumously)".

Background: On Saturday, April 12, 26-year-old pilot Pavlo Ivanov was killed while performing a combat mission on an F-16 aircraft.

Zelensky noted that he has received reports from the military regarding this combat situation, and all circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
