On Saturday, April 12, 26-year-old pilot Pavel Ivanov was tragically killed during a combat mission aboard an F-16.

Details: An interdepartmental commission has been established to investigate the circumstances of the tragedy and has begun its work.

The department has not disclosed further details about the soldier's death.

Update: The initial report incorrectly stated Ivanov was 21 years old, but this has been corrected to 26.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the pilot's death.

Zelensky's statement:

"We have received necessary reports from the military regarding this combat situation. We are clarifying all circumstances".
