On April 6, Ukraine observes a day of mourning for those killed in the Kryvyi Rih shelling on April 4.
«Cities and villages across Ukraine will commemorate the victims of the attack in Kryvyi Rih on April 6», stated Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.
As a result of the missile strike and drone attack, 19 people lost their lives.
Details on the impact of the Kryvyi Rih strike
18 individuals were killed during the missile attack on Friday evening, including 9 children.
«Among the deceased are three-year-old Tymofiy, who sadly passed away in the hospital on April 5, seven-year-old Radyslav, seven-year-old Arina, nine-year-old Herman, as well as fifteen-year-olds Danilo, Mykyta, Alina, sixteen-year-old Kostiantyn, and seventeen-year-old Nikita», reported President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Currently, 75 individuals are known to be injured.
37 people remain in hospitals, with 19 in serious condition.
The occupiers attacked Kryvyi Rih on Friday evening with an Iskander ballistic missile equipped with a cluster warhead, targeting a residential area that included a playground, café, and homes.
Hours later, Russian forces again struck the city with drones.
One person died, and seven others were injured.
Zelensky calls for pressure on Russia
In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the world to exert pressure on Russia.
«Russia must be held accountable for all that has been done; we need to apply real pressure on them to end this war», the president stated.
Volodymyr Zelensky, who previously criticized the U.S. for its «weak» stance on the missile strike in Kryvyi Rih, called for not remaining silent about Russian atrocities.
«It is wrong and dangerous to ignore that it is Russia killing children with ballistic missiles. Silence only encourages the scum in Moscow to continue the war and to ignore diplomacy. Weakness has never ended a war. Therefore, I am grateful to every country whose representatives have spoken out: leaders, foreign ministers, and embassies», the president remarked.
