Defense Forces Report on Drone and Missile Attacks

Details on the interception of drones and missiles during the recent attacks on Ukraine.

The air defense forces have neutralized 405 drones and 14 missiles used by Russia to attack Ukraine on the evening of November 13. This information was shared by the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force via Telegram.
Starting from 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 13, the Russians launched a combined strike on critical infrastructure in Ukraine using strike drones and missiles from air, ground, and sea platforms. 

In total, the radio engineering troops of the Air Force detected and tracked 449 aerial attack units – 19 missiles (13 of which were 'ballistic') and 430 drones of various types (approximately 300 were Shahed-type drones):

  • 430 strike drones of the Shahed type, «Gerbera» (other types of drones) from directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsk-Akhtarsk – Russia, Hvardiyiske (temporarily occupied Crimea);
  • 3 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 «Kinzhal» (from Ryazan region, Russia);
  • 1 anti-ship missile «Tsirkon»;
  • 6 cruise missiles «Iskander-K/Caliber» (from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea/Black Sea waters);
  • 9 ballistic missiles «Iskander-M/KN-23» (from Bryansk region).

The primary target of the attack was Kyiv. Consequences of the Russian assault were also recorded in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Poltava, and Cherkasy regions.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defense forces.

As of 9:30 AM on Friday, November 14, air defense had shot down/neutralized 419 aerial targets:

  • 405 enemy drones of the Shahed type, «Gerbera», and other drones;
  • 2 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 «Kinzhal»;
  • 6 ballistic missiles «Iskander-M/KN-23»;
  • 6 cruise missiles «Iskander-K/Caliber».

Missile impacts and 23 strike drones were recorded at 13 locations, along with debris from downed targets at 44 locations.
The Air Force warns that the attack on Ukraine continues, with new groups of enemy drones detected in the airspace.
