In the Kharkiv region, a rescuer was killed and five of his colleagues were wounded due to repeated enemy shelling while performing a combat mission. This was reported by the State Emergency Service (SES).
"On the night of October 23, a true hero lost his life during a mission in Kupiansk – Senior Master Sergeant of Civil Protection Service Yuriy Chistikov, commander of the 43rd State Fire and Rescue Unit of the 4th State Fire and Rescue Squad of the SES of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, born in 1975. Yuriy leaves behind a daughter," the statement says.
While extinguishing a fire caused by an enemy drone strike in the village of Zeleny Hay, Russian terrorists shelled the site where rescuers were working. The enemy strike claimed the life of the rescuer and injured five of his colleagues.
Yuriy Chistikov exemplified duty and service – a person for whom saving others was more important than his own life, the post concludes.
