The head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Kim, announced that for the first time since the onset of the full-scale war, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv using guided aerial bombs.

“Yesterday, two guided bombs were dropped. This is the first instance where such bombs reached Mykolaiv. The type of bombs is still being identified. However, this marks the first time during the war that the outskirts of the city have come under attack by guided bombs,” said Kim.

On the afternoon of October 16, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of guided bombs heading toward Mykolaiv. Later, it was reported that around 12:00 PM, a launch from a Su-34 aircraft over the Black Sea was detected, targeting the city of Mykolaiv. The type of aerial weapon used is still being determined. There were no casualties reported from this attack.
