Hostile Attacks in Chernihiv Region: Latest Updates

On the morning of October 8, Russian forces struck an oil depot in Pryluky, located in the Chernihiv region. Rescuers showcased the aftermath of this aggressive attack.

This information was shared by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) via Telegram.

The strike resulted in a large fire, which is currently being extinguished by the rescuers. Robotic technology is also being employed to combat the flames.

The rescuers reported that there have been no casualties reported at this time.

Attack on October 8

As a reminder, in the night of October 8, Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

The main targets of the strikes included Nizhyn, Pryluky, Kryvyi Rih, and Odesa region.

Near Nizhyn, 12 Shahed drones targeted the railway infrastructure, while in Pryluky, the oil depot was hit.

Following the strike on the oil depot in Pryluky, significant smoke has been observed.

Residents of the city were advised, in case of a change in wind direction, to keep windows closed and minimize outdoor activities.

In Kryvyi Rih, around 30 Shahed drones and UAVs were launched, leading to damage to the energy sector.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over 180 drones were used in the night attacks across Ukraine, with only 154 being shot down.

The Ministry of Energy reported a challenging situation in the energy system and urged Ukrainians to conserve electricity.
