The situation on the southern front is becoming increasingly challenging, indicating an escalation. Recently, Russian forces have intensified their use of kamikaze drones and increased artillery shelling. This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the southern defense forces.

"The circumstances are complicated as the enemy increases the number of drone and artillery attacks, aiming to strike not just our positions but also settlements near the frontline. There is also a noticeable increase in the munitions used", - noted Voloshin.

According to the spokesperson, the overall number of combat engagements in the south has been lower compared to some other directions over the past day.

"In total, there were 13 engagements in the south, eight of which occurred in the Hulyaipole direction, where the enemy has been unsuccessfully trying to take control of Poltavka for several days. Additionally, four engagements took place in the Orikhiv direction, near the settlements of Kamianske and Stepove, while the enemy attempted to storm our positions near the Antonivka bridges, but without success", - he explained.

Voloshin also informed that near Stepove in the Orikhiv direction, Russian occupiers again attempted to use motorcycles in their assault, yet they faced losses and had to retreat.

On the front yesterday, October 6, there were 193 recorded clashes between the defense forces and Russian invaders, with 59 enemy attacks repelled in the Pokrovsk direction.
