During the night, Russia launched attacks on Ukrainian cities, deploying nearly 500 drones and over 40 missiles, including «Kinzhal». Four people died in Kyiv, and at least 40 were injured across Ukraine, as reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

«The attack lasted for over 12 hours, with brutal strikes on civilian areas. Almost 500 drones and missiles, including "Kinzhal", were used. In the morning, the Russian-Iranian "Shahed" drones were active again,» Zelensky noted.

The main targets of the assault were Kyiv and its region, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, and Odesa regions. The shelling damaged the building of the Institute of Cardiology in Kyiv.

«Currently, it is known that four people were killed in Kyiv, including a 12-year-old girl. My condolences go out to all the relatives and friends. Across Ukraine, at least 40 injuries have been reported, including children,» Zelensky informed.

The attacks also targeted a bread production facility, a tire manufacturing plant, private houses, and civilian infrastructure. All necessary services are working at the sites.

«This vile attack occurred practically at the end of the UN General Assembly week, and it showcases Russia's true stance. Moscow wants to continue fighting and killing, and deserves only the harshest pressure from the world. The Kremlin finds it beneficial to continue this war and terror as long as there are funds from energy and a shadow fleet is operational,» Zelensky emphasized.

He stated that Ukraine will continue to strike back to «deprive Russia of these opportunities to earn and force it into diplomacy.»

«Everyone who wants peace must support President Trump's efforts and halt any Russian imports. The time for decisive action has long come, and we expect a strong response from the USA, Europe, the «G7», and the «G20»,» added Zelensky.

As of 10:25, as a result of the Russian attack on September 28, four people have died in Kyiv, and 13 have been injured. In the Kyiv region, 27 people were affected.
