On the night of September 16, Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 89 out of 113 drones that Russian military attempted to use in their assault.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force's message on Telegram, a new wave of attacks began on September 15 at 8 PM.
The assaults involved Shahed drones and others launched from various locations, including Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Approximately 70 of the drones were of the Shahed type.
The response included aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, and electronic warfare units actively countering these attacks.
As of the morning of September 16, 89 drones were reported shot down or suppressed across different regions of Ukraine.
There were also 22 confirmed hits across six locations, with debris falling in two of them. Two drones remain airborne.
Additionally, at midnight, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia, launching 10 shells from multiple rocket launchers, resulting in casualties and injuries.
