Day of Mourning Declared in Kharkiv

A day of mourning is declared in Kharkiv today due to a terrorist strike that claimed the lives of five individuals, including a child.

Today, August 18, a day of mourning has been proclaimed in Kharkiv. This directive was signed by the Mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov.

«Today, Kharkiv is in mourning. Five lives have been lost, including a one-and-a-half-year-old girl. Twenty individuals are injured, with the youngest victim only six years old. This is the aftermath of a terrorist strike on a residential building. My heartfelt condolences to the families of all who perished,» the mayor stated on his social media pages.

As a sign of respect for those who lost their lives due to the enemy shelling that occurred on the morning of August 18, the State Flag of Ukraine has been lowered to half-mast on buildings of local government, enterprises, institutions, and organizations. Additionally, all forms of entertainment music are banned in markets, retail, and dining establishments today.
