An explosion in Melitopol has led to the destruction of an ammunition supply depot and Russian troops that were redirected to the Zaporizhzhia front.

On August 16, 2025, as a result of an operation conducted by the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied Melitopol, an ammunition depot and a group of Russian invaders were eliminated. The explosion occurred as an enemy truck carrying personnel arrived at the occupiers' deployment point in the industrial area on Korvatsky Street. At least six Russian invaders from the naval infantry and members of the UAV crew from the so-called Kadyrov battalion “Ahmad-Vostok” were killed. The exact number of irretrievable and sanitary losses among the Russian occupiers is being established.

The explosion also ignited the ammunition depot, and secondary detonations were heard. Four ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

The GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reminds that there will be just retribution for every war crime.
