Successful Defense: Intercepting Missile Threats and Drones

Ukraine's air defense operations proved effective, intercepting missiles and drones that targeted the country.

The air defense forces successfully neutralized two ballistic missiles of the type "Iskander-M/KN-23" and 32 UAVs that attacked Ukraine on the evening of August 12.

This information was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.

Starting from 21:00 on Tuesday, August 12, the enemy launched 49 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various imitation drones from directions including Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo, along with two missiles "Iskander-M/KN-23" from the Kursk region.

The strike drones targeted the Donetsk, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions, while the missiles hit Poltava region.

During the air assault, defense efforts were supported by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on Wednesday, August 13, the air defense managed to shoot down or suppress 34 targets: two "Iskander-M/KN-23" missiles and 32 Shahed-type drones and imitation UAVs in northern and eastern Ukraine.

Hits from 17 drones were recorded at 15 locations.
