Norwegian Assistance to Ukraine - Details

"We are providing new air defense systems valued at 1.2 billion Norwegian kroner through the JUMPSTART program to protect the population and infrastructure of Ukraine," the statement says.

At the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, Norwegian Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik emphasized that air defense is the top military priority for Ukraine and is crucial for protecting both military and civilian infrastructure.

This funding is part of a total of 22.5 billion Norwegian kroner (around $2 billion) allocated for military support to Ukraine in 2025 under the Nansen Support Program.

In 2024, Norway allocated over six billion Norwegian kroner for air defense (more than $532 million).

Additionally, Norway will join the "drone coalition" operating within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, contributing 50 million dollars for this initiative.
