Drone Assault and Ukraine's Air Defense

On the night of August 4, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with 162 strike drones of the Shahed type, various imitation drones, and a Kinzhal missile. However, Ukraine's air defense managed to neutralize 161 aerial targets.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Forces on social media.

The attack began at 19:30 on August 3 from directions including Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, and Oryol in Russia, as well as Gvardeyskoye in occupied Crimea.

In the morning, the enemy also deployed an air-launched ballistic missile, the Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal".

According to preliminary data as of 11:30, air defense forces had downed or suppressed 161 enemy Shahed drones and imitation drones across northern, southern, eastern, and central regions of the country.

One drone was recorded as hitting, with debris falling in nine locations in Odesa and Kyiv regions.

To repel the aerial attack, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces were engaged.
