On the night of July 26, an explosion at the Armavir airfield in the Krasnodar region of Russia resulted in the destruction of a Su-27UB combat training fighter jet belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Local residents stated that communication in nearby settlements was lost following the explosion and fire at the airfield.

The Armavir airfield is primarily used for training cadets of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School.
