A dangerous missile attack occurred in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to six others, including a 15-year-old girl. This incident has been classified as a war crime, prompting a preliminary investigation.
According to law enforcement, on the night of July 21, 2025, Russian military forces launched an assault on the city using missiles and drones.
As of now, one fatality and six injuries have been reported, with victims suffering from multiple shrapnel wounds and cuts. One of the injured received on-site medical assistance due to a hypertensive crisis.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a residential apartment building was damaged, leading to a fire on three floors. The metro station and nearby eateries were also affected.
In the Solomianskyi district, windows and doors were blown out in several high-rise buildings due to the shockwave.
In the Darnytskyi district, a kindergarten and supermarkets were damaged, with windows blown out in a residential building.
In the Dnipro district, trade pavilions and warehouses caught fire.
Two buildings, including an unfinished one, suffered destruction in the Obolon district of Kyiv.
Currently, efforts are underway to ascertain the exact number of casualties and the full impact of the attack. Rescue workers and law enforcement are on-site documenting yet another war crime.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
