The head of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", Oleksandr Pertzovsky, stated that the latest strikes by the Russian army on the railway are exclusively aimed at civilian trains, mainly those carrying coal, as well as the destruction of locomotives.

Pertzovsky reported this on Facebook.

"We confidently assure and are ready to demonstrate to any international experts: all recent intensified strikes on the railway are EXCLUSIVELY TARGETING CIVILIAN TRAINS, which transport only civilian cargo."

Most notably, the attacks have focused on coal trains. It becomes evident that the enemy aims to cripple our coal industry, which continues to sustain thousands of families, particularly in Donetsk." - he noted.

According to Pertzovsky, earlier, the focus of Russian strikes was on railway infrastructure.

"Now the enemy has essentially launched a real "hunt for locomotives". Just like in Kherson, Sumy, and Donetsk regions where they hunt ambulances or evacuation buses, the inhumane forces have begun pursuing locomotives, destroying them while fully aware that there may be people inside." - he emphasized.

Pertzovsky mentioned that "Ukrzaliznytsia" has revised its operational algorithms and enhanced its alert systems.

He also stressed the need to reconsider legislation regarding social protection for deceased and injured workers of critical infrastructure.
