Over the course of eight phases of a large-scale prisoner exchange, hundreds of Ukrainians have successfully returned home, including both military personnel and civilians.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on his Facebook page.

«Eight phases of our exchange initiative. Since early June, hundreds of our people have come back home. Our youth, defenders of Mariupol, and those who held the line in Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions. Wounded, seriously ill. Those who were considered missing», — stated the head of state.

According to Zelensky, most of the released had been in Russian captivity since 2022. Among those returned are not only military personnel but also civilians who became hostages of the war.

The President emphasized that this is the result of the coordinated efforts of a large team that works daily to secure the release of every Ukrainian.

«We will continue and will work until we bring back everyone, without exception», he concluded.
