On July 4, 2025, an explosion occurred on the outskirts of the temporarily occupied village of Strilkove in the Kherson region, destroying a Chevrolet Aveo with three invaders onboard, who were operators of the Russian occupation army's drone unit known as “bars-sarmat”.

All three invaders, including the leader of the group posing a threat to Ukraine's security forces and terrorizing the civilian population, were heading to a concert by Joseph Kobzon.

The so-called “bars-sarmat” center was established in 2024 in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. It specializes in testing and combat application of new robotic and electronic systems, including drones, robotic complexes, electronic reconnaissance, and warfare systems, as well as command and communication tools.

The commander of this unit is former head of “Roscosmos” Dmitry Rogozin.

The Russian “bars-sarmat” center consists of several detachments. The eliminated group was part of the “bars-1” unit located in the occupied Genichesk. The leader of “bars-1”, known by the call sign “Corsair”, is seen in illustrative photos alongside Rogozin.
