During the evacuation of critically injured individuals in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, the "White Angel" crew came under attack from Russian drones: a police officer was injured, and a civilian man being evacuated bled out and did not survive.

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

The evacuation was carried out by the "White Angel" police unit in cooperation with the NGO "Chaplain Patrol" using chaplains' transport.

The Russians attacked the evacuation team three times. The first drone struck as they approached the city, and another in the city center. This was a targeted hunt, but the crew was fortunate – the drones fell nearby.

At the same time, a civilian couple on bicycles became a target. The man and woman were heading to a place to charge their phone when they were severely injured by the explosion, with the 42-year-old man's leg being torn off. Police found them on the road, provided first aid, and rushed them to the hospital along with another injured person.

At that moment, Russian forces struck the vehicle with a "Lightning" drone. The car sustained multiple damages and could not continue. The police officer was injured, and backup was called.

The rescue operation took place in two stages: first, the injured civilians were evacuated, and then the "White Angels" were picked up by a police patrol group.

Due to the cynical Russian attack, precious minutes were lost in saving lives – the critically injured man died in the hospital.

It is noted that injured police officer Kostiantyn Tunitsky is undergoing treatment for a shrapnel injury to his leg, and his life is not in danger. The "White Angel" aims to return to duty soon and continue rescuing citizens.

As of now, around 1,700 residents remain in Pokrovsk. Law enforcement and volunteers risk their lives daily to help them.
