A new stage of prisoner exchange has successfully freed a group of critically ill Ukrainian defenders, in accordance with the agreements reached in Istanbul.
Today, another round of exchanges took place, involving soldiers with serious medical issues. The Coordination Headquarters, on the directive of the President of Ukraine, facilitated the release of defenders suffering from severe injuries.
Returning home are military personnel from various branches, including representatives of the Navy and Airborne Forces, among others.
Each released defender has been diagnosed with serious medical conditions, including significant weight loss, vision problems, and cardiovascular diseases.
Most of them spent over three years in captivity, with many captured during the defense of Mariupol.
All those released are from the ranks of privates and sergeants.
Overall, Ukrainians who fought in various regions, including Donetsk and Luhansk, are coming back home.
The released defenders will undergo medical examinations and receive necessary medical and psychological support.
The Coordination Headquarters continues its work, preparing for the next stage of exchanges.
We are working to bring all our heroes home!
Glory to Ukraine!
