In Bilozersk, Donetsk region, rescuers discovered a cat that had been trapped for two days under rubble.

The animal was so terrified that it scratched one of the firefighters, as reported by the State Emergency Service.

The emergency team had been conducting rescue operations for over two days at the site of a collapsed five-story building when they stumbled upon the frightened cat.

"When they finally extracted it from the debris, the scared animal scratched one of the rescuers' faces out of fear," the SES said.

Despite the "injury," the rescuers managed to save the "resilient survivor" who had waited a long time for help. The cat is now safe.

It is worth noting that at the end of May, law enforcement officers in Kyiv region rescued an injured deer that had run into a local yard but could not escape on its own.
