Release of Ukrainian Defenders: Latest Exchange Details

Details on the exchange of Ukrainian servicemen and their return from Russian captivity.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that another 307 Ukrainian defenders have been returned from Russian captivity.

Direct quote from Zelensky: "We are continuing the exchange arranged in Turkey. In just two days, 697 people have been returned. We expect the exchange to continue tomorrow."

Among those returned are servicemen from various branches, including drone operators.

According to the Coordination Headquarters, all 307 released are ranked soldiers and sergeants.

Returned are military personnel from the Armed Forces, including Airborne Assault Forces, Special Operations Forces, Naval Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, as well as members of the State Border Guard and the National Guard.

Included in this exchange are 27 defenders from Mariupol.

Overall, returning home are Ukrainians who fought in Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk directions.

Previously, Russia announced that it also received 307 of its troops.

Background: On Friday, the first part of the 1000 for 1000 exchange took place, during which 390 individuals were returned, including 270 military personnel and 120 civilians.
