On April 4th, the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to expand the powers of the Digital Ministry in the areas of digital technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors.
This information was announced by government representative Taras Melnychuk in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the changes made to the statute of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry:
promotes the development of robotics, semiconductor technologies, domestic robotics production, unmanned systems, and other innovative technologies for defense purposes;
determines priority development areas and ensures regulatory governance;
organizes financial support for companies engaged in the development and production of robotics, unmanned systems, and other innovative technologies;
organizes and coordinates trials and research of prototypes;
creates and maintains infrastructure for testing and demonstrating prototypes of robotics, unmanned systems, and other innovative technologies;
supports the development of artificial intelligence in Ukraine, among other things.
It should be noted that the Cabinet of Ministers transferred the regulation functions of gambling and lotteries from the Gambling Business Commission (KRAIL) to the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
