The cutting-edge ground robotic system Droid NW 40, developed by the Ukrainian firm DevDroid, has successfully undergone certification in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This information was released by company representatives.
The certification opens the door for official supply and use of the robot for the needs of the security and defense forces of the nation.
"Droid NW 40 – is a high-tech reconnaissance-strike complex capable of operating with automatic grenade launchers Mk-19 or AGL-53 with a caliber of 40 mm (the Ukrainian equivalent of Mk-19), designed to carry out complex military tasks without personnel presence in high-risk zones", – explained the developers.
The ground drone effectively engages lightly armored targets and personnel at distances of up to 1.5 km. It also supports six types of communication, including Starlink, LTE, and Mesh. Other tactical and technical specifications of the Droid NW 40 include a continuous operation duration of up to 12 hours.
"Our goal is to ensure that technology saves lives. The certification of Droid NW 40 shows that we are moving in the right direction and confirms that Ukrainian high-tech developments meet high standards of quality and operational readiness. DevDroid continues to work on expanding the lineup of remotely controlled systems aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing risks to military personnel", – emphasized CEO of DevDroid Yuriy Poritsky.
Additionally, recently the company created a universal modular control system for ground drones called Droid Box, which significantly simplifies and accelerates the development process.
This summer, DevDroid, in collaboration with the UAV manufacturer "Snail", introduced a new reconnaissance-strike system named Droid Raw 12.7.
