Google Maps is rolling out several new features aimed at enhancing user experience by providing more information about establishments before a visit, as well as locating available charging stations for electric vehicles and more.
Now, when searching for a restaurant, hotel, or other venue, users can take advantage of the Gemini feature, which collects reviews and tips, such as how to best reserve a table or where to park conveniently.
The "Know before you go" feature is currently available to users in the USA on both Android and iOS platforms.
Another new addition is the ability to view available charging points for electric vehicles. Previously, Google Maps only marked the locations of charging stations, but now it will show the approximate number of available spots. This update will gradually roll out over the coming weeks for Android Auto and vehicles with built-in Google systems worldwide.
Additionally, Google Maps is introducing an Explore tab that helps users discover new places. It will showcase popular and trending restaurants or events nearby, allowing users to swipe through options easily. This update will be made available to users globally over time.
Users will also have the option to leave reviews under their chosen nicknames, selecting avatars and names that match their review style. Meanwhile, the system will continue to monitor suspicious and fake ratings to prevent abuse. This update will later appear in both the mobile app and the web version of Google Maps.
