Google has launched new features for Workspace through Gemini – an innovative function that enables the AI assistant to generate detailed analytical reports based on user data. Now Gemini can utilize emails, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and chats as information sources for analysis.
Deep Research initially formulates a query plan, then conducts a series of searches and consolidates the results into a structured report. Users can add clarifications or export the results to Google Docs or even create a podcast based on it.
According to Google, Deep Research can perform market analysis using internal team correspondence, Drive documents, and project plans. For instance, the AI can generate a competitor report by combining open sources with corporate files or communications in Google Chat.
In the Gemini interface, there is now a source selection option: users can grant access to Google Search, Gmail, Drive, or Chat individually. All connections occur only after user consent, and Google assures that data is not used for training models.
Currently, Deep Research is available only on the desktop version of Gemini, but the company plans to roll out mobile support soon. Initially, this feature will be available to Workspace and Gemini Advanced users, before being expanded to a wider audience.
Remember, Gemini recently introduced a feature for creating presentations based on user prompts.
