Google has denied widespread claims concerning serious security issues within Gmail. The company emphasized that it has not sent out any mass warnings to all users regarding this matter.
This situation relates to a phishing attack on Salesforce, which Google first reported back in June, and on August 8, announced that all affected users had received notifications.
“We want to reassure our users that Gmail's security is robust and effective,” the company stated.
Google also clarified that its protection measures block over 99.9% of phishing attempts and malicious attacks. The company recommends using secure alternatives to passwords, such as passkeys, for maximum account security.
