YouTube Introduces New Collaboration Tool for Creators

YouTube is testing a new tool that allows creators to add collaborators to their videos, enhancing collaboration and promotion.

YouTube has begun testing a new feature for content creators that enables them to add collaborators to their videos. According to Engadget, this function is reminiscent of the collaborative posts seen on Instagram and TikTok. Its goal is to encourage cross-promotion among various audiences.

Main authors will be able to specify other collaborators, whose names will appear next to the primary author’s name on the channel page. If there are many collaborators, the mobile version will display the phrase "...and others," which will reveal the full list of individuals with "Subscribe" buttons.

The process of adding a collaborator to a video is likely to be similar to that of Instagram and TikTok: the main content creator will need to send an invitation that the other author must accept. It remains unclear whether collaborators will have access to the video statistics visible to the main author.

As stated by a Google representative on the YouTube Help forum, the feature is currently available only to a limited number of users. YouTube plans to consider feedback from testers before making a decision on a wider rollout of the feature.
